Dollar Clearance & SmokeX

Overview

The Dollar Clearance and SmokeX projects were two distinct e- commerce platforms catering to different market segments. Dollar Clearance focused on wholesale distribution, while SmokeX targeted end consumers with a focus on retail sales.

The platforms were built with scalability and performance allowing for seamless user experiences despite the complexities of managing high volumes of transactions, inventory, and customer data. Our team was responsible for developing both platforms from the ground up, ensuring they met the diverse needs of their respective markets

Our contribution

Backend Architecture & Inventory Management: Developed the core application using Laravel to efficiently handle high-volume transactions for Dollar Clearance (wholesale) and provide a flexible retail experience for SmokeX. Built a comprehensive inventory management system to manage stock across multiple suppliers and automate reordering processes with real-time tracking.
Payment & Shipping Integrations: Integrated secure payment gateways like PayPal and Authorize.net for seamless transactions. Automated the shipping process with ShippingEasy, providing users with real-time order and shipping updates.
Progressive Web Application (PWA): Implemented PWA features for SmokeX, offering an app-like experience with improved load times, offline functionality, and push notifications, enhancing mobile usability.

Our contribution

Infrastructure & Automation: Chose DigitalOcean for its flexibility, using Docker for containerization and Laravel Forge for managing servers and automating deployments. Established CI/CD pipelines via GitHub to ensure thorough testing and smooth deployment.
Security & Marketing: Ensured PCI-DSS compliance for secure payment processing and SSL encryption for data protection. Developed features for email marketing, personalized discount codes, and promotional campaigns to boost customer engagement.
